Disciplined Saving: Financial Foundation

Mar 08, 2016 No Comments by

We hear all the time that Americans don’t save enough and it’s true. We said in an earlier blog post that 62% of Americans have less than $1,000 in saving and 21% don’t even have a savings account. Where are are you? Are you part of the 62%, the 21% or somewhere else on the spectrum?

One of the key benefits of having a privatized banking system is that it turns you into a disciplined saver. And that is the real reason that most Americans fit into the 62% – they simply refuse to defer gratification or live at a level that’s below what they are earning in order to put funds away for the future.

When you are faced with a life event – marriage, birth, death, college, job loss, forced retirement – whatever the case might be – there’s always a cost involved. Most people are not financially prepared – they have no financial foundation on which to build for a rainy day.

For those with corporate jobs – paychecks mean steady income. What happens for those who are independent consultants? There’s no such thing as a steady paycheck – you’re looking for the next contract while you’re still working on the current one. As NPCG client and independent consultant, Mike S. says, “I have to eat what I kill!”

Mike’s told his story at the 2015 Your Financial Destiny day-long seminar, explaining that the concept of privatized banking fit well with his ‘independent mindset’ and lifestyle. He enjoys being in control of his own destiny – financial or otherwise – but it is not for the feint of heart.

Through privatized banking, Mike learned to put a financial foundation under his life that will take him well into the future and taught him the value of disciplined saving and accountability for outcomes.

If you’re an independent thinker, then privatized banking might be exactly what you need to make sure there’s a strong financial foundation firmly under your life and lifestyle. Take a look at Mike’s story and then contact Julie Ann Hepburn to talk about firming up your financial foundation.
